Claire H. (Hickey) Roche, age 91, wife of the late H. Barry Roche, died Friday morning October 9, 2015 at the Lafayette in Marblehead. Born in Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Laurence and Katherine (Kane) Hickey. She attended local schools and following her graduation, she was employed with the Bank of Boston working as a teller for the Bank.

Mrs. Roche stayed very active in her retirement and enjoyed swimming at the YMCA in Marblehead. She enjoyed her home abutting Black Joes Pond and her rose gardens. She also enjoyed visiting the Marblehead Senior Center where you would find her playing cards.

Her care givers, Ted and Pat Peach, would like to thank the Lafayette Nursing Home for the great care Claire received.

Surviving her is her sister Mary Vaughan of Hingham and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also the sister of the late Laurence and John Hickey.

Her funeral will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead on Monday October 19, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Waterside Cemetery, 294 West Shore Drive, Marblehead. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. As requested there are no visiting hours.
