Obituary

Christer Bohman, age 59 of Swampscott, Massachusetts passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on June 2nd 2020, after a brief battle with cancer.

Christer was born in Finspang, Sweden on April 22nd 1961 to Eivor and Ulf Bohman, he was a loving husband to Alice and proud father to Alexander and Liam, fostering the same nurturing relationship with his children that had been laid out by his parents Ulf and Eivor before him. Christer's wanderlust growing up eventually led him to his greatest adventure, meeting his wife of 30 years while both were traveling Australia. Together Christer and Alice raised a family built on hard work and compassion, but never missed an opportunity to enjoy life's subtle moments. Together with his family, Christer lived in Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Wisconsin, Illinois, and lastly Massachusetts, giving his family a diverse upbringing and a colorful life experience, starting from an early age. No matter where he lived, to Christer home was always wherever family and friends gathered.

He is survived by his wife Alice, sons Alexander and Liam, father Ulf Bohman, and brother Leif (Kicki) Bohman. He was preceded in death by his mother Eivor Bohman. He is also survived by his wife's siblings, Joe Agnew, Tom (Megs) Agnew, Patty (Tim) Agnew-Howe, Steve (Diane) Agnew, Chris (Sandy) Agnew, Gail (Bill) Yanisch, along with many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. Christer was loved and will be missed by all who had the fortune of knowing him and being impacted by him during his lifetime.

Christer lived life with a passion that he shared with everyone around him. He valued family and took pride in being a strong father figure to his boys Alexander and Liam. He understood the value of hard work and character, the value of loyalty and love to his many close friends, and the importance of seeing the world for its natural beauty. Christer was dedicated to his work as a Quality Assurance Manager, and was a beloved colleague and valued team member. Outside of work Christer's passions included travel, fitness, reading, and cheering on his favorite soccer and football teams. He always found time to spend with his family and friends, whether that was working on a new home project or simply relaxing in the comfort of nature. Christer always made the most out of each experience and was always ready to learn or accomplish something new. Planning his next meal was always a priority, some people eat to live and others live to eat, and anyone who shared a meal with Christer knows which side of the fence he stood on. As impossible as it is to say goodbye, Christer without a doubt made the world around him a better place, and the memories held by those close to him will be a continued source of happiness and inspiration to truly live life to the fullest, and ensure that he and his legacy are never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, treat yourself to a good meal and enjoy a drink in his memory.

In Our Hearts

We thought of you today.

But that is nothing new.

We thought about you yesterday.

And days before that too.

We think of you in silence.

We often speak your name.

Now all we have are memories.

And your picture in a frame.

Your memory is our

keepsake.

With which we'll never part.

God has you in his keeping.

We have you in our heart.
