Chronis, Charlotte (Metropolis), 78, lifelong resident of Peabody, MA, left us on February 21, 2008. Beloved wife of 56 years of George P. Chronis, with whom she enjoyed the happiness of a shared life. Mother of Angela Hastings and her husband, Roger, of Salem, and Peter Chronis, of Everett. Adoring grandmother of Haley and Mason Hastings. Charlotte was also survived by her extended family of Anna Nekolopoulos, James and Sophia Metropolis, Georgia Metropolis, Mary Papamichael, James and Anna Chronis, all of Peabody, Marion Chronis, of Georgetown, as well as many nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents Andrew and Bessie Metropolis, sister Phyllis, brothers, Steve, Teddy and George, and her mother-in-law Angelina Chronis, with whom she shared a special bond. Charlotte enjoyed traveling with her husband, particularly in the northern states. She had a sweet and patient disposition, plus a joyful sense of humor. She took pleasure in providing a loving home, fine meals, and being creative.
Funeral Services will commence with visitation on Sunday, February 24, 2008, from 2pm to 6pm at Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem, MA, with funeral mass held Monday, February 25, 2008, 11 am, at St Vasilios Church, 5 Paleologos St, Peabody, MA, followed by interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody, MA.
