Charles H Speicher Sr, 83, died Friday September 23,2011 after a brief illness at Grosvenor Park Nursing Home in Salem Ma. with his family by his side.

Charles was born on October 11, 1927 in West Reading PA. the son of the late Alvin and
Edna (Rapp) Speicher . He graduated from Mulenburg High School in 1945 and enlisted in the Army shortly after graduating. He met his future wife, Cecelia Sharrock, when he stood up as Best Man for
his brother, Donald who married Cecelia's sister Doris in 1945 . He married
Cecelia Sharrock of Salem MA on September 21, 1946. They later
moved back to Salem and bought a two family home with his brother, Donald ( deceased) where they both lived for 65 years.

Charles and Cecelia raised 4 boys and he is survived by all of them; Charles Jr of
Reading, MA, Clifford of Port ST Lucie, Fl, John of Salem, NH and William of Salisbury, MA., 9 grandchildren and 11 great
grandchildren. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

He was a lifelong Boston sports fan following all of the Boston sports teams. He had coached both Salem Little League and Pony League baseball and also loved to play golf. He worked at the Commonwealth of MA, Mass Turnpike Authority
computer center and retired at age 64.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, September 31, 2011 at 11:30 AM in the Murphy Funeral Home,
85 Federal St., (cor of North St) Salem. Relatives and friends are
respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be prior to the services on
Saturday, from 10:00AM to 11:30 A.M. Interment will be private.
