Cecile M. (Charette) DiMambro, age 94, wife of the late Roger DiMambro of Salem, formerly, died Thursday evening in the Rosewood Nursing Home following a long illness.
Born in Canada, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs George Charette, she had been educated in Canada, moving to Salem as a teenager. Once she completed her education, she became well known in Salem and surrounding communities for cleansing homes.
Her real passion was her own home, caring for her family and always being there for her children. She loved to cook, bake, sew and knit. Later in life she worked had worked with her late daughter, Marie Godfrey who had operated a ceramic business for several years.
Mrs. DiMambro is survived by a son Robert DiMambro and his wife Barbara of Beverly; a brother Arthur Charette of Beverly and five grandchildren.
In addition to her predeceased daughter, Marie, she was recently predeceased by her son Roger DiMambro who had suffered a heart attack two weeks ago, and a sister Suzanne Cameron.
Visitation will be on Monday morning, December 5, 2011 from 9:00AM to 10:30 AM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin St., Peabody, MA 01960.
