Catherine A. (Gormalley) Shore, age 87, wife of the late Howard G. "Pete" Shore, died Monday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Shore was born in Salem, daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Coughlin) Gormalley, she attended St. Mary's Grammar School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Salem. Following High School, Mrs. Shore graduated from the Salem Commercial School. She was employed with Sylvania on Boston Street in Salem, working as a bookkeeper for the company for over 25 years. Mrs. Shore was a member of the Sylvania Quarter Century Club. She continued her employment with Liberty Loans in Lynn, also as a bookkeeper, until her retirement.

Mrs. Shore was a homebody. She enjoyed her family and taking care of the kids. She was very dedicated to her family and was very proud of all of their accomplishments.

Surviving her are 2 sons, Alan Shore of Salem; Edward Shore and his wife Debbie of Castaic, CA; 5 grandchildren, Rebekah, Rachel, Colleen, Jessica and Kevin; 3 great grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua and Shamous and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Frank, Joseph and Bill Gormalley, Mary Ruotolo and Noreen Buckley.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (Corner of North St.) in Salem. Internment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. A visiting hour will be held prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923 or in Mrs. Shore's honor, her family requests that those who wish extend a random act of kindness to another person.
