Catherine T. Gravel, 89, beloved wife of the late Robert E. Gravel passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. She was born on October 21, 1926.
Catherine was raised in Danversport and educated in the Danvers School System. She began her career as a lighting technician at Sylvania in Danvers and worked there for many years. Later she attended North Shore Community College and became a teachers aide at Endicott School in Salem until retiring. After retirement she lived in Peterborough, NH for 12 years before returning to the North Shore. She was a member of the Sylvania Bowling League, loved knitting, and bingo.
She is survived by her son, Robert and his wife Elisabeth of Windham, ME, her daughter Cynthia and her husband Stephen Woodbury of Boxford, MA. She is also survived by her son-in-law Stephen LaHaise of Arlington, MA. Catherine was predeceased by her daughter Cheryl LaHaise and 6 siblings.
In addition she leaves behind her grandchildren, Bryan, Jennifer, Meaghan, and Courtney and 2 great grandsons Jason Robert, and Trent David.
Her Funeral will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) Salem on Monday December 21st at 1PM. Calling hours will be held at the Funeral Home from 11AM to 1PM on the day of the funeral. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
