Catalina Sara Cordeiro, nine months, died unexpectedly at her home following a long illness. Born in Beverly, Catalina was the loving daughter who brought love and compassion to her parents, Joseph Bettencourt Cordeiro and Deborah Jean (Holmes) Cordeiro.


Catalina was a loveable child, full of joy and always smiling. She loved her big sister Sofia. Elmo and crinkly toys were her favorite. She brought great joy to everyone. Catalina will be missed and who is now a Guardian Angel in Heaven.


Surviving her in addition to her devoted parents is her loving sister, Sofia Rosa Cordeiro of Beverly; her adoring paternal grandparents, Jose and Maria Cordeiro of Peabody and her maternal grandmother Darlene Dunbar of Concord, NH and her Nannie Karen Zagorski of Hamilton. She is also survived by her loving Aunts and Uncles, Jay Stevens of Saugus, Kristin Turcotte of Pembroke NH, Donna Holms of Salem, Timothy Holmes of Lynn. She also had many cousins and extended family who loved her very much. Catalina's family would like to express a special thanks to the three nurses who made her life so happy. We love you Grace, Hannah and Danielle. Our little "pupa" has gone to be with the angels you will be forever missed.


Catalina's funeral will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 8:15 a.m. from the Murphy Funeral home, 85 Federal St, (cor of North St.) Salem, followed by a Funeral Mass of the Angles at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held Thursday at the Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Internment will be held in the Field of the Angles in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
