Carrie L. (Maxwell) Reed, age 78, loving wife of Wayne G. Reed, died Monday morning, September 29, 2014 at the Devereux House in Marblehead surrounded by her loving family. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Eben and Elizabeth (Joiliffe) Maxwell. She was a lifelong resident of Salem.
Mrs. Reed was employed by Dunkin Donunt's, for many years on Washington St in Downtown Salem. She was friendly and kind to all she served. Dedicated to her family, she enjoyed bowling and bingo. She had also been active at the Salvation Army in Salem.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Reed is survived by her daughter Jeannette Marie Gokey and her husband Timothy Gokey Sr. of Salem, her sister, Lois Cook of Indianapolis, ID, her grandson Timothy Gokey, Jr. and his wife Heather Leblanc-Gokey of Haverhill and several nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family, services will be held privately. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
