Bruce P. Phillips age 61, of Beverly died in unexpectedly in Beverly Hospital Monday evening after suffering a heart attack.
Born in Peabody, he was raised and educated in Salem graduating from Salem High School in the Class of 1965. He then became a licensed optician, later was employed by Maynard Plastics and had retired from Salem Laundry.
In addition to spending time with his family, he had enjoyed scuba diving and listening to classical music.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his mother Janet (Gagne) (Phillips) Gagnon of Murphy, NC; two brothers Salem Fire Department Lieutenant Paul Phillips of Danvers and John and his wife Margaret Phillips of Salem; a nephew Zachary Stewart and two nieces Nicole Phillips and Bailey Bouchard of Salem.
He was predeceased by a sister Ann (Phillips) (Armstrong) Bouchard.
Private funeral services are under the direction of the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. Salem.
