She was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, the late Salem baseball great, Garnet L. "Bumpy" Gibson, and her son, Peter M. Gibson, former Executive Secretary to the late Salem Mayor, Sam Zoll.

She is survived by her son, William L. Gibson and his wife, Martha, of Drakes Island, Wells, ME and a sister, Paula M. Parker, and her husband, Irv, of Salem. She also leaves five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Salem High School and Lesley College, Billie taught kindergarten and first grade in Salem for many years prior to her retirement in 1977. One of the "Four Manning Sisters" of Salem, she, along with her sister, Dorothy, danced professionally throughout the northeast, appearing in many "reviews" during the war years of the late 1930's and early 1940's.
