Benjamin J. McHugh, formerly of Marblehead, passed away on Monday, August 5 th at Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers. Born in Salem, MA to Benjamin and Mary (Burns) McHugh. He grew up in Lynn and moved to Marblehead after getting married and settled in the Shipyard
neighborhood where he raised his family. He was the devoted husband to, Thelma (Smith) McHugh who passed in 2018.

Ben was a former member of the U.S. Air Force National Guard, an Eagle Scout as well as a proud member of St. Mary's High School Class of 1954.  Ben was a lifelong banker specializing in Automobile Dealer Lending for several banks including TD Bank North, Bank of New England and Essex County Bank. He attended Salem State and the University of Oklahoma where he studied Banking.

He leaves behind his children, a son Sean and his wife, Lori of Lincoln, NH, a daughter Pamela Finan and her husband, Roger of Salem, and a daughter, Lisa Daly of Marblehead. He was a proud grandfather to Nicholas, Jessica and Emily Finan, and Connor, Allison, and Alexandra Daly. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Jane Zipper. Ben also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
