Barbara Ann Soul (Sullivan), 88, of Marblehead, MA, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, MA.
Born on September 24, 1937, in Boston and raised in Brookline, Barbara was known for her warmth, friendliness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a kind-hearted soul who was always ready to help those in need.
A dedicated and reliable professional, Barbara spent 35 years as the in-store bakery manager for Star Market, serving at the Queen Anne’s Corner location in Norwell and later in Quincy.
Her life took a romantic turn in her youth when she began writing to her friend Carrol’s brother, Charlie Soul, while he was serving in the Army. Through their correspondence, they fell in love and were married in 1956. They shared 55 wonderful years together until Charlie’s passing in 2011. Together, they raised three children: Diane Worth, Joseph Soul, and James Soul.
Barbara is survived by her children, Diane and Jim; her daughter-in-law, Jean Soul; and her son-in-law, Greg Worth, who held a special place in her heart. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren whom she cherished deeply.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Common Market Restaurant in Quincy on Saturday, February 21, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Charlie, at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Monday, February 23, at 1:15 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund to support research in preventing and treating the disease.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
