Barbara Moroney 72 of Brooksby Village in Peabody and formerly of Wenham, MA passed away on November 6, 2020 at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers, MA.  Barbara was the beloved wife of Robert W. Moroney also of Brooksby Village with whom she shared over 51 years of marriage.

Barbara grew up in Worcester, MA daughter of the late Alphonse P Juhne and Anna M [Dotsis] Juhne. Barbara received a bachelor's degree from UMASS Amherst and earned a master's degree from Lesley University.

Barbara was a middle school English teacher for the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District for over 25 years.  She will be forever known for the poetry project she assigned each spring. In addition to teaching, Barbara is known for her passion for travel, especially to the Caribbean island of St. Maarten, and her love of all creatures great and small but especially her precious dogs Cassidy and Riley.

In addition to her husband, Barbara leaves two daughters:  Kellie Chavero and her husband Alan Chavero of Framingham, MA as well as Erin Moroney, who has resided in London, England for many years. Barbara is also survived by two grandchildren, Austin and Julianna Chavero of Framingham.

Services were private and under the direction of the Murphy Funeral Home.
