Lynn — Barbara Mae (Trainer) Griffin, age 89, wife of the late Harold Griffin, died Monday morning, Dec. 4, 2017. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick and Ruth (Wightman) Trainer. She was educated at St. Mary's Italian Church School. She started her working career with Pequot Mills. Following her employment at the Mill, she was employed with the Town Line House in Peabody where she worked in the kitchen for 32 years. She continued working for Bickford's on Route 1 in Peabody until she retired.
Mrs. Griffin enjoyed life. She would look forward to her trips to Foxwoods and playing Bingo. She was an enthusiastic game player at the Greater Lynn Senior Center and she loved horror movies and musicals.
Surviving her are many nieces and nephews, especially Doris Trainer and Ellen Cash. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, James "Ernie", Robert, Leo, Edward, Fredrick, Mildred "Millie" and Ruth Trainer, Katherine Brault and Ethel Ouellette.
Service information: A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius Church, 215 Maple St., Lynn on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial was held at Bourne National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the GLSS, 8 Silsbee St, Lynn, MA 01901.
