Barbara C. Farrell, 75, passed away from complications related to Parkinson's disease on April 11, 2018 with her family by her side. A longtime resident of Marblehead, she was born on April 12, 1942 in Lynn, MA to the late Carl, Sr. and Enis (Mancinelli) Holden. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and Salem State College, where she earned her B.S. in Education. Barbara was an elementary school teacher at the Bell School in Marblehead prior to starting her family. She later went back to work for Catholic Charities where she dedicated many years of service. Barbara will best be remembered as a talented and meticulous artist who could always be found engaged in a craft project of some kind.

Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Robert A. Farrell of Marblehead, her son Daniel R. Farrell and his wife, Iris, of New Ipswich, NH, and her daughter Kathleen M. Dufort and her husband, Christopher, of Eliot, ME. Her pride and joy was her three grandchildren: Matthew and Adriana Farrell, and Quinn Dufort. Barbara is also survived by her brothers Carl Holden, Jr. of Peabody, MA and Robert Holden of Clewiston, FL; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service being held on May 12, 2018 at Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (corner of North St.) Salem, MA at 10AM. A reception will follow. Barbara's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of The Lafayette in Marblehead for the excellent care they provided during the last two months of Barbara's life.
