Obituary

Our beloved Mother and Grandmother Barbara Ann Faircloth, 80, of Salem passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024 at the Kaplan House in Danvers.  Barbara was surrounded by family and friends in a room filled with joy and laughter as we shared so many stories and memories of a life so well lived.

Barbara was born on October 20, 1944 in Peabody, MA to the late Leonard T. McGrane Sr. and Edith (Pynn) McGrane.  Raised in Salem along with her sister Rosemary Leszczynski and brother Leonard McGrane she enjoyed a childhood spent with her siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles at many family gatherings over the years.  She attended St. Mary's Elementary School and was a 1962 graduate of Salem High School.  Barbara spent many years playing the piano, playing on the CYO Basketball Team and as drum major for the Rockettes Drum and Bugle Corp.

Barbara cherished the role of mother to her two children William King Faircloth III and Lisa Marie (Faircloth) Middleton. She was involved in all they did from Cub Scouts, Little League, Irish Step and Ballet dance.  Having always enjoyed music and playing the piano she encouraged their involvement in band and chorus and never missed a performance.  Her love and support was felt every day by them.

When her children were grown, she went back to work spending many years working at Stahl Finish in Peabody.  She then shifted careers to bartending.  She loved bartending at Keefe's and the Olde Mill Pub in Salem. If you knew Barbara, you know how much happiness she got from talking to and meeting new people, so this was a perfect fit for her.  It was here that she met her loving partner of 41 years, Larry Tessier. Later in life, Barbara worked for Dr. John Clapp at his office in Danvers alongside some of her closest friends.

We ask that you remember Barbara for all the joy love and friendship she gave so willingly to all she met.  When you are at the beach on a sunny day, listening to Jimmy buffet with a Chardonnay in your hand think of her. When you are decorating your Christmas tree next year think of her and her love for the holidays.  On St. Patrick's Day when you are singing Irish tunes think of her on one of her most favorite days of the year. Most importantly when you are with your family think of her, as the love of family was everything to her.

Barbara is survived by her son Bill Faircloth and wife Sandy (Beverly), daughter Lisa Middleton and husband Jay (Beverly), Grandchildren Jessica Faircloth, Shane Faircloth, Travis Faircloth, Devyn Faircloth (fiancée Steve Young), Ava Middleton, Great Grandchildren Aaliyah and Vanessa Faircloth and Cole Dexter. Brother-in-law Paul Leszczynski and Sister-in-law Jane McGrane.  She leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews who she loved like her own and many cousins and lifelong friends.  Barbara also leaves behind Larry's children Deb and Todd Rich (son Michael), Patrick (children Logan and Lindsay), Stephen and wife Stephanie (children Molly and Zach)

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her partner Larry Tessier, her sister and best friend Rosemary Leszczynski and her favorite brother Leonard McGrane, Katelyn (Rich) Coolbroth.
