Barbara A. "Barb" (Page) Keane, age 76 of Salem died early Wednesday morning at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She now joins her late husband and "Sweetheart even unto eternity", Joseph E Keane with whom she had shared 47 years of marriage until his death in 2001.


Born in Boston the daughter of the late Ralph and Ida Mae (Johnson) Page, Mrs. Keane was raised and educated in Charlestown. Once she completed her schooling, Mrs. Keane was employed as a Quality Control Manager for Deerskin Trading Post in Danvers for several years. Later she became a medical secretary for Jeffrey Sorkin, O.D and had retired from the office of Pushpa Agarwal, M.D.

Her life centered around her family with whom she shared her continuous love and joy. A voracious reader, Mrs. Keane enjoyed playing both scratch tickets as well as playing the slot machines at Foxwoods.

She is survived by two children Walter Keane of Salem and Linda Keane of Manchester, NH; two brothers Master Sergeant George M. Page, United States Air Force, Retired of San Antonio, TX and Arthur E. Page of Charlestown; seven grandchildren William, Ryan, Matthew, Stephen, Liam, Julie, Devon; one great grandchild, Caleb and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son Joseph P. Keane.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Friday from 4:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. Salem.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 11:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 12 Noon in St. James Church. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. The family requests that those who wish make memorial contributions to benefit the activities of the residents of J.
