SALEM- Arthur Werner Statezni (88), of Salem, passed away at Lahey Hospital in Burlington on Sunday February 7, 2021. Born in Gross Schohe, Germany, Arthur was the son of the late Agnes (Burno) and Arthur Statezni and the brother of Dieter, Venrich, Edith, Irene, and Ula.

Arthur grew up attending schools in Germany, as he went onto trade school there learning plumbing. After completing his education, he moved to Salem and worked for Salem Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 138 for 35 years. Later, he went onto work at Market Basket for19 years before officially retiring. Outside of his work, he was a loving husband to Rosella (LeBlanc) Statezni. He and Rosella were married in 1961 at St. Anne's in Canada. From there, they raised their family together as Arthur will be remembered as a loving husband and father to his family.

Arthur is survived by: his wife of nearly 60 years Rosella (LeBlanc) Statezni; his son Daniel Statezni of Salem, his son Arthur Statezni and his wife Lori of Newton; his grandchildren Molly Joan Statezni, Matthew Joseph Statezni, Ally Rose Statezni; and several other nieces and nephews. Arthur is predeceased by his son Gary Statezni who passed away in 2015.

Visiting hours will take place on Thursday February 11, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal St. Salem. A gathering will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Life Bridge 55 Margin St. Salem, MA.
