Antonio "Tony" J Marques, 57 of Salem MA died at home on Thursday October 7, 2021 after a brief illness.

Tony was born December 19, 1963 in Lisbon Portugal.  He was the only son of Jose and Italina Marques. He and his parents moved to Peabody in 1976 where they  were long time residents.  Tony was a graduate of Peabody Vocational school where he studied Auto Repair.  He recently retired from an auto repair shop which he owned.

Tony shared  27 years with his wife Amy.  The share 3 children, Victoria, Mateus, and Gabriella. He was a loving husband and father and truly loved spending time with his family.

He was an avid soccer fan and a lifelong Sporting.  He also loved both the Red Sox and the Patriots.  Tony loved to play darts and was a dedicated captain to his team LaFamilia.

Tony had a zest for life. His warmth, smile, and laugh could brighten any room. He always had kind words to say and warm hugs to give.  Tony saw the good in everyone he met.

His greatest love was his family.  This included so many of his dear friends whom he also considered family.  He would often be found taking road trips and loved to experience new things.  He loved his Portuguese heritage and enjoyed cooking with his girls.

Tony was a dedicated father.  His daughters were truly his world and he enjoyed every moment he spent with them.  He was always beyond proud of their accomplishments and was a strong shoulder when they needed him.

Tony is survived by his wife Amy Marques of Beverly, his daughter Victoria Marques of Salem, his daughter Gabriella Marques of Beverly, and his father Jose Marques of Salem. He is also survived by many cousins and so very many friends whom he loved dearly.

His son Mateus and mother Italina pre deceased him.

Visitation will be held Monday October 18 from 4 to 8 at the Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal Street in Salem.  Services Tuesday October 19 ^th at 11am at St. Thomas Church Peabody.  Reception to follow at Beverley Franco American club 44 Park st, Beverly. Donations in leu of flowers may be made to Beverley Franco American.
