Anne E. Camenga, age 56, of Peabody, died peacefully at home Monday evening following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born in Muncy, PA the daughter of C. Meade Camenga of Beverly, formally from Salem and the late Patricia (Nichols) Camenga, her family moved to Salem when Anne was nine years old and was raised in Salem. Later, she resided at the Hogan Regional Center in Danvers until living independently for many years while being employed by Turning Point in Newburyport More recently, Ms. Camenga has lived at a loving group home in Peabody.

Anne enjoyed dancing at the Salem Moose Lodge and loved to play bingo. She also was an avid participant in the Special Olympics, looked forward to bowling and her frequent trips.

In addition to her father, she is survived by a brother John Camenga and his wife Carol of Matthews, NC; three sisters Patricia Kaplon and her husband Kerry of Essex, Susan Bailey and her husband Mark of Ipswich and Catherine McClenaghan and her husband Steven of Ipswich.

A loving aunt she took great pride in her eight nieces and nephews, Michael Camenga, Jeff and Jay Kaplon, Chandra, Seth and Emily Bailey and Derek and Rachel McClenaghan. She will be missed by her large extended family and loving caregivers.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St (cor of North St) Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
