Obituary

Ann T. McGrath, 89, born January 4, 1932 in Boston, passed away peacefully at Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody, MA on May 3, 2021.

Before retiring from New England Telephone, she was acting in forming the Telephone Pioneers Foundation with co worker Teddy Mceachron. The Foundation helped many underprivileged and nonsupport groups.

She loved a good joke and laugh. She loved her Red Sox and never missed a game. She could tell you anything about any team. She also loved the Patriots. She was very knowledgeable on so many topics. If you didn't know, you know she would! She loved to go to Broadway shows with her friends. She would remember every detail!

She loved to be involved on what was going on with the grandchildren, the many activities, weather, sports or recitals or their birthday parties. She always was there.

She loved to travel – Trips to Europe, Aruba, and cruises were just a few. Her favorite was York Maine where we would meet up.

She had nine grandchildren: Justin Kingston, Julie Kane, Michael, Joey, and Patrick McGrath, Keith and Peter Theriault, Joel and Kasie Favazza and also 20 great grandchildren. Ann also leaves behind her children Laurie and Husband Skip Kingston, Paul McGrath Jr. and partner Karol, Kelly and husband Michael Boltas, Kerry Favazza and best friend Carol Diamond. She was also a friend of Bill W. She was the widow of the late Paul J. McGrath Sr. Proceeded in death by her youngest son Michael F. McGrath, her brother Martin Shannon of Winthrop, and her beloved sister Mary Burns of Parkridge Illinois.

Services are private, and under the direction of the Murphy Funeral Home, with burial taking place afterward in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
