Ann N. (Nowell) Kramer, age 85, died following a short illness, Monday afternoon April 20, 2015 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was Born in Brookline, daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Linn) Nowell. She was a graduate of The Winsor School and had attended Bryn Mawr College.

Active in the Republican Party, she was very involved in several political campaigns. Her involvement included the presidential campaign for George H.W. Bush. She also was a member of the Volpe Administration. Mrs. Kramer taught English and Drama at The Winsor School and had endowed the annual drama prize. She was the Director of Communications at Spaulding Rehabilitation Center in Boston.

She is survived by two daughters, Linn Torto and her husband Raymond of Marblehead, Suzanne Rowen of Seatle, WA and her grandson Nathaniel Torto. She was also the sister of the late Joseph Nowell, Jr.

Her Funeral Service will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) Salem on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Ann N.
