Anastasia K. (Kantouros) Marketos, age 82, wife of the late Charles Marketos, formerly of Worcester, more recently of Life Care in Lynn, died early Monday morning, July 9, 2012 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House.
Born in Kili, Evia, Greece, she was educated in local schools and married her late husband. In hopes of making a better life, her husband Charles emigrated to the United States and became employed by Table Talk Pies as a baker making pies. Once he felt secure, he sent for Anastasia and they settled in their home and raised their family. A dedicated loving wife and mother, she became one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Mrs. Marketos is survived by a daughter Becky Flessas of Salem ; a sister Vasilia Maxouri of Kili Evia Greece; and two grandchildren Christina and Dimitri Flessas both of Salem.
She was predeceased by a son James Marketos and two brothers, Spiro and Prokopi.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Hillside Cemetery, 73 Central St, Auburn, MA. Please meet at the main entrance by 10:45 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. At the family request there are no visiting hours. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to any Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
