Allen Vahey Koshgarian died peacefully in his sleep on July 27, 2016. He served honorably in both The US Air Force (1975-77) and The US Army (1990-91) where during Operation Desert Storm, he served as a Combat Medic. His military service led him into being a Compensation and Patient Advocate for Veterans using Veterans Administration Services. He was an active member of The Polish Legion of American Veterans, Chapter 55, The Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 54 and the Salem Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1524.  He was also an avid genealogist.

Allen is survived by a sister, Sabrina L. Nelson, of Castro Valley, California, and cousins, Paula Ananian, and Leona Callahan, of Upland California, and Mark and Scott Gates of Beverly, Massachusetts.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Greenlawn Cemetery, 57 Orne St., Salem, gathering at 3:30 P.M. with the services beginning at 4:00 P.M. Immediately following the graveside service a gathering will be held at the Salem VFW Post #1524, 95 Derby St., Salem.
