Alice Foster, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on September 2, 1929, Alice's life was a testament to love, devotion, and the enduring bonds of family.

Alice met her husband, John Foster, while roller skating, and it was love at first sight. She was only 18 when they began their lifelong journey together. Their marriage, a beautiful union lasting 53 years until John's passing, was filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they built a loving family and a home filled with warmth and kindness.

Alice was predeceased by her husband, John, and two of her three daughters, Alice McCarthy and Cheryl Foster. She is survived by her devoted daughter Kathleen Camire and her husband Thomas Camire. Alice's legacy also lives on through her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

A woman of extraordinary warmth and generosity, Alice left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her love for family was unparalleled, and she embraced her role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother with grace and enthusiasm. Her home was always a welcoming sanctuary, filled with love, laughter, and the delightful presence of her golden retriever, Nugget.

Alice found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She adored watching old movies, finding comfort and nostalgia in their stories. Her gentle spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

A service to honor Alice's remarkable life will be held on September 3, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Murphy Funeral Home, located at 85 Federal Street, Salem, MA 01970. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate the wonderful life of a truly exceptional woman.

Alice's presence in our lives was a gift, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire us all. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
