MARBLEHEAD – Alice F. Delande died peacefully in her beloved home April 24, 2018 after a long illness.  She was surrounded by her loving family in her final days.  She was predeceased by her cherished husband of 58 years, Richard F. Delande.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of James P. Fitzpatrick and Lillian (Jeffrey) Fitzpatrick, graduating from Marblehead High School and The Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists.

Alice lived for 56 years in the house in Marblehead that she and her husband built, where she excelled at gardening and design, becoming a long serving member of the Arrangers of Marblehead, winning numerous awards for her colorful and bold creations.  Alice and Richard were longtime members of the Corinthian Yacht Club, and was a daily Communicant at Star of the Sea Church where she volunteered tirelessly on various committees and was responsible for many of the beautiful Holiday floral arrangements.

She is survived by her four children, Mark J. Delande and his wife Nancy of Woburn, James P. Delande and his wife Alexandra of Marblehead, Tracy D. McGuinness and her husband Timothy of Nashua, and her full time homecare giver in her final years, Lesley J. Delande of Marblehead and her 7 adored grandchildren. She was the sister of late Joan Grattan, Audrey Kennedy, Mary-Jane Riddell, Brenda Boyle and Gail Stacey.
