Obituary

SARNO, Alfred Joseph "Fred" Sarno of Sebring, FL died unexpectedly on February 28th, 2015. Fred was born September 24, 1943 to Rose and Marino Sarno in Boston MA. He was 71 years old.

Fred graduated from Northeastern University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Shortly after college, he entered the Armed Forces and served his country proudly as a Captain in the U.S. ARMY. He retired after his longtime career with the Hilton Hotels, which spanned 35 years and included responsibilities for individual hotels, Regional Manager of Hilton's Western Division, Contract Negotiator and V.P. of Sales for Conrad Hotels (International Division of Hilton).
Fred was a gift to all with his witty sense of humor and effervescent personality. He always made everyone feel special and important. Fred was a generous and thoughtful person who enjoyed golfing, fishing or relaxing poolside. When he wasn't outside, he loved watching movies and was an avid sports fan. Even though he resided outside of the Boston area for most of his life, his heart was always with his most loved sports teams from Boston. Fred had a passion for cruising and he and his beloved wife, Glynda shared 44 cruises. He also loved poker night with his buddies. Fred started each day reciting these special words "Happiness is a choice". When asked how he was, Fred always replied "Just Ducky"! Fred had a zest and a love for life and lived it to the fullest!

We can't imagine the world without his welcoming smile and hearty laugh but we will honor him by speaking his name often, and always with love. We stand together as a family thankful to have had his wisdom and guidance and never-ending love. He will never be forgotten but will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts.

Fred is survived by his loving wife, Glynda, and his son, Craig, and his daughter Lauren Sarno Previte and her husband Paul Previte and his future grandson. He is also survived by his brother Joe Sarno and his wife Lisa, his sisters Rena Sarno Catalanotti and Rosemarie Asci and her husband Robert. Fred is also survived by his three nieces: Alyssa Sarno, Brianna Sarno and Victoria Asci and three nephews; Adam Catalanotti, Bryan Catalanotti and Jarod Sarno, and his beloved puppy, Mandy.

A Funeral Mass for Mr. Sarno will be celebrated on Saturday, April 18th at 10:30am at St. James Parish in Salem, MA. Friends and family are welcome.
