Alfred J. "Fred" Casey, 72, of Salem, MA passed away peacefully on December 30, 2012, following a battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born in Lynn, the son of the late Alfred J. and Lillian (King) Casey, he attended local elementary schools. He was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1958, where he was Co-Captain of the football team. He then received his engineering degree from Wentworth Institute in 1960 and began a long career in the insurance industry as a Loss Prevention Fire Consultant. He retired in 2011.
His passion in life was the ocean. He frequently visited Winter Island in Salem and spent Friday nights with friends at the Danversport Yacht Club. He was a very generous and compassion person who loved his family, and always found the good in others. He enjoyed Fishing, Spending time in Maine /FL & Nevada with friends/family, Music was a Big part of his life and he was always the " life of the party". He also was very fond of his cat, "Henry" who he recently had to put down.
He is survived by his Spouse Suzanne J. (Labbe) Casey of North Andover; Five children Suzanne Martinezand her husband Dale of Los Lunas, NM, Michael Casey of West Jordan, Utah, Cheryl Casey of Tooele, Utah, Scott Perkins of Bradford, MA and Wendi (Perkins) Wilmott and her husband TJ of Fort Meade, MD; two brothers, James Casey and his wife Geri of Roseville, CA, and Daniel Casey, Esquire, and his wife Tammy of Danvers; a sister Carol Kempton of Nashua, NH; 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends whom he cherished. He is also pre-deceased by Brother Michael Casey.
A gathering of relatives and friends will begin on Saturday January 5, 2013 at 1:00PM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St (Corner of North St) Salem and conclude with a celebration of his life with the Rite of Christian Burial in the funeral home to be celebrated by Rev.
