Albert C. Lunt, age 86, devoted husband of the late Gladys (Ginger) M.(Amirault) Lunt, died at home Thursday evening, January 16, 2014.


Born in Salem, the son of the late Benjamin and Julia (Ambrose) Lunt, he attended Salem elementary schools and then St. Mary's High School in Lynn. He began his career at the United Shoe in Beverly followed by many years at Texaco as a truck driver.


A devoted husband, he always felt that he had married the nicest lady who ever lived. Together they enjoyed raising their family and seeing the family grow. He and Ginger, as members of the Wenham Country Club, enjoyed playing golf with their many friends.


Mr. Lunt is survived by four children, Patricia A. Pitreau and her husband Robert of North Andover, Thomas P. Lunt of Peabody, John M. Lunt and his wife Marlene of Salem and Maryellen Hunt and her husband Scott of Lynn; five grandchildren, James Pitreau and his wife Betsy, Brian Pitreau and his wife Alonna, Timothy Lunt and his wife Nicole, Ashley Lunt, and Emily Hunt and three great grandchildren, Eliza, Caroline and Garrett.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 9:15 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, corner of North St, Salem, to be followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 260 North St. Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4:00PM to 8:00 PM in the Murphy FuneralHome. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
