Peabody - Albert "Al" "Deke" Pellicio of Peabody died unexpectedly at Massachusetts General Hospital on August 11, 2015.
Albert was the loving and devoted husband of Rose Marie (Mooradian) Pellicio with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. He was the proud father and father-in-law of Pamela and Louis Nicolosi of Haverhill, Mark and Nadine Pellicio of Danvers, and Paul Pellicio of Haverhill. He was the very proud grandfather of Michael and Luke Nicolosi of Haverhill and Mary Pellicio of Danvers. Albert is also survived by his dear sister, Fern O'Malley, of Beverly Farms and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his sisters Nina McPherson and Laura York.
Albert received an honorable discharge from the United States Army having served during the Korean War Conflict. He was a long time member of the Beverly Italian Community Center and a member/trustee of the Vittore-Rocci Post #56.
Albert had an incredibly strong work ethic. He was very proud of the fact that he began working as a young child and only recently retired this past winter at the age of 84 from Henry's Market of North Beverly where he was employed for 58 years holding positions as Meat Manager and Treasurer. He enjoyed taking care of and spending time with his family and friends, gardening, golf, and a competitive game of cards. He always thought of himself as a fortunate person to be surrounded by people who loved him and being able to work at a job he loved. We were the lucky ones to have had him in our lives.
At Albert's request, funeral services are private. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, August 23rd from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. at his late residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Albert's name to the charity of one's choice.
