Alan R Carson, age 70, husband of Sheila (Gallant) Carson, of Spring Hill, FL formerly of Salem passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 2012 at the Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, FL.
Born, raised and educated in Salem, MA, he was the son of the late Raymond and Jeannette (Dionne) Carson. Known for his caring nature and dry sense of humor, Alan was a catamaran sailing enthusiast who loved music and traveling. Upon his retirement from electrical design engineering in the Aerospace industry, Alan and his wife Sheila moved to Florida where he pursued new hobbies including piano, clarinet and he recently obtained his Ham Radio operator license. Alan will be deeply missed by all the lives he touched
In addition to his wife Sheila, Alan is survived by his three sons, Stephen and wife Jeniffer of Lexington, MA and their two daughters Adrienne and Vanessa; Matthew and wife Sheila of Lowell, MA and their two children Gabrielle and Joseph; David and wife Erin of Holland, MA and their children Alexis, Natalie, Kyle and Owen. Alan was also survived by his three sisters, Judith Furey and family, Janice King and family, and Sally Carson, along with several cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14th at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St.(cor of North St), Salem, MA . His funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb 15, 2012 at 10:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal (Cor of North St) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at The Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, MA .
