Agnes G. (Thibault) (Dolliver) McGrane, age 91, died at home Friday morning, May 27, 2011 surrounded by family.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Adams) Thibault. She was predeceased by her husbands Robert C. Dolliver and Robert W. McGrane. She attended and graduated from St. James Grammar and High Schools. She then married and began her family, to whom she was dedicated. Later in life, she worked at Parker Brothers for 10 years and then at Daniel Lowe's in the catalog department.
Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her home was the heart of family gatherings year round for over 60 years.
She is survived by nine children, Robert Dolliver of Salem, Ellen Dolliver Vaillancourt and her husband Henry of Leesburg, FL, Donna Dolliver McIntyre and her husband Ronald of Danvers, Donald McGrane of Merrimac, Joanne Bogiages of Danvers, Diane McGrane of Salem, Kenneth McGrane and his wife Darlene of Peabody, Paula Geist and her husband Ronald of Danvers, and Mary McGrane of Waltham; a sister Mary Dooley of Salem; her close friend and sister-in-law Jean O'Donnell; 7 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sons, David Dolliver and Paul McGrane; three sisters, Catherine Moore, Eileen Cody, Pauline Connors; and a brother Lawrence Thibault.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:00 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (cor of North St.) Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. James Church, 160 Federal St., Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm the funeral home. Internment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or Spectrum Adult Day Care, 600 Cummings Park, Beverly, MA 01915.
